Dr. Coy graduated from the University of Florida Medical School with honors. He went on to complete his residency in cardiology at UCLA and Cedars Sinai. In 1992, he was named the American Heart Society’s Investigator of the Year. Dr. Coy is American Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Interventional Cardiology and Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Coy has been practicing medicine for over 10 years in South Florida and is currently in private practice in Miami. He serves as the managing partner of South Florida Cardiology Consultants, a division of Jackson Health System. Dr. Coy was recently appointed as the medical director of JMH-International Caribbean Cardiology Initiative. In that capacity, he has led a ground-breaking pilot project in the area of remote ECG cardiac monitoring. He is actively involved as an interventional cardiologist with considerable experience in Caribbean. His experience includes opening Cath Labs in the Bahamas, training physicians to perform angioplasty in Jamaica and training physicians throughout the Caribbean to implant defibrillators and other implantable devices. He also serves as a visiting consultant to the Cayman Islands Health Services Authority.
