Also located in Biscayne Medical Plaza, Biscayne Imaging offers state-of-art diagnostic imaging technologies. Their services include:

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Particularly useful in diagnosing problems of the brain, spine and nervous system, MRI units are widely used because of their safety and accuracy in providing detailed, multidimensional images of a specific part of the body. MRIs produce powerful, high-definition images using radio waves and a magnetic field, without exposure to x-rays or any damaging forms of radiation.
Biscayne Imaging Center utilizes the state-of-the-art GE 1.5 Tesla MRI to meet a wide variety of medical needs. Built and serviced by an industry leader, the 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner provides the highest quality images to the physician while ensuring the patient's utmost comfort.

64-Slice CT Scans

Biscayne Imaging Center is one of few South Florida facilities to install a state-of-the-art 64-slice CT scanner, offering images of unprecedented quality and detail in just seconds. This leading edge CT scanner is the newest and fastest imaging technology available for diagnosing blocked arteries and other cardiovascular conditions, dramatically altering the way physicians treat coronary disease and chest pain.
In fact, a recent New England Journal of Medicine article reports on the benefits of using CT scanners in the early detection of lung cancer, representing a monumental breakthrough in the diagnosis and treatment of this often aggressive disease.

PET/CT

The combination PET/CT scanner represents a major advance in imaging technology and patient care. For example, it allows physicians to spot the presence of a tumor as well as to determine whether it is malignant or benign, by merging anatomical pictures produced by the CT scanner with molecular images from PET. The PET/CT technology helps guide physicians in providing the most beneficial therapies for their patients.

X-ray

In addition to the latest, state-of-the-art imaging technologies, Biscayne Imaging Center offers the full-range of traditional x-ray technology in a fully digital environment, which greatly reduces the radiation exposure to the patients.

Ultrasound

Another proven diagnostic tool is ultrasound, a procedure that uses high-energy sound waves that produce echo patterns that can be visualized with remarkable clarity. Used to sense everything from aortic aneurysms to unborn babies, ultrasound technology's medical uses have unlimited possibilities for the future.
A completely safe and widely accepted imaging technology, ultrasound has frequently been used in capturing real-time, live "pictures" of the fetus in the womb. At Biscayne Imaging Center, we use ultrasound technology to assist in diagnosing and treating a range of vascular, abdominal and pelvic conditions.
